Take up a Challenging Game of Paintball to Really Enjoy the Good Life

For those of you who have never tried it but thought it could be interesting here’s your chance to learn how. The exciting sport of paintball is an adrenaline packed sport full of stalking and shooting, who doesn’t love that!? It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a pro, there are game play styles for everyone to enjoy. If you don’t have the gear, rent some. you don’t have to have the best equipment on the market, just go out and live the good life.

The first thing you are going to need is some gear. You will need some goggles, air supply, and of course the gun and paintballs (the politically correct term for a paintball gun is a marker, but don’t use that word on the field). The goggles should fit snug on your head and allow for adequate ventilation and sight. After all, you need to see what your shooting at (or where to run if you choose). You will want to choose a goggle system that vents well because fogging of the lens is a big problem. An air supply can be either compressed air or co2. Today’s paintball field are usually equipped to handle the filling of both tanks. However if you are heading out somewhere that you will not be able to fill up at, choose co2. Co2 will provide you with more shots because the tank can hold more energy. The tanks are filled with liquid co2 for storage and then use the gas form to shoot the gun. The last thing you will need to enjoy the good life of paintball, is a gun. The paintball gun can be any style approved for paintball play as long as it shoots at least 250fps. Be sure to check the gun if you are borrowing it, to see if it uses batteries. Some newer guns operate on 9volt batteries or some other rechargeable type. The paintballs come in many differ ant colors and fills. It is best to choose the brighter colors when playing in the woods so that your splat mark is easier to see. Avoid storing your paintballs in extreme hot or cold situations because they are temperamental.

Once you have these basic essentials, your pretty much ready to live the good life on the field. The basic type of game players like is capture the flag. It’s just like the hide and seek game you used to play as a kid, only now you can shoot people (and it’s legal). Be sure to dress for the occasion. If it is hot outside only wear the clothes that you think you will need for protection, added clothes will cause you to get hotter and your goggles will fog easier. If it is cold outside, dress in layers. This way you can take clothes off as it gets hotter outside or your body temperature warms from the adrenaline rush. If you are shot during the game, you will go to what is called the dead box. Once the flag has been captured and returned to your base, the game is over.
