Can We Have a Good Life Without Money?

If you are at that crossroad of your life when you find yourself asking if you can have a good life without money, then maybe we can give you a head start.

The answer can swing both ways, that is, it can either be a yes or a no. The deciding factor for that is what is your definition of a good life?

Picture this: enviable vacations on cruises or yachts, replenishing diamonds or platinum’s , caviar and wine, sprawling lawns that double up as golf courses, even bigger pools – if the personal pool is cut out from the Pacific Ocean even better, mansion or castles that are called homes, Rooms that outnumber the memory .. And all the works.

If you are smiling at the thought of all this or if there is a twinkle in your eye, then clearly this is the good life that you dream about. Even if you can’t get so far, you may try to make up for the loss by close approximations of the so called good life. This translates into, an expensive clothesline, being part of a larger and an influential social group and being a known face amidst the who’s who of society. This “good life” comes at a price and a hefty one at that. If that’s what works for you, then in all likelihood you cannot have a good life without money.

A quiet walk in the woods, getting drenched to the skin on a rainy day and having a good laugh about it with your friends, spending long hours with loved one’s without any end purpose, stopping by to smell the flowers, pursuing what you love to do even if that means opting for a job that doesn’t pay in millions, finding some time for yourself everyday… and many more similar things that soothe the mind.

If this is what you do or if this is what you want to do, then this “Good Life,” is priceless. Literally as well!

Clearly this doesn’t need a huge capital investment so money is something you would not need to sweat it out for.

You would have realized by now that, the definition of a good life will vary from person to person. Money may or may not be a prerogative for you depending on the choices that you make. There are no moral limits to what you think is best for you. The distinguishing feature of a good life is that, it brings peace, calm and contentment to you. If the means to the end is lots of money or the lack of it, it’s a choice that should make you happy. Remember that whichever path you choose, it should in turn elevate you. It wouldn’t help you to do things out of peer pressure, or those that validate your self doubts. May the good life you choose, be really good for you.
