A good life is characterized by good health and we all want to be able and fit for as long as we live. No one likes persistent issues with skin, hair or anything else for that matter. While most of our efforts are concentrated at addressing this on the surface level, the solution is in, consuming healthy food for the good life that we all want.
You don’t have to trot the globe for rare food items and those that promise to be an elixir of life. If you can incorporate regular healthy food in your diet then the results will definitely justify the effort. Your body needs a combination of proteins, vitamins, fiber, carbohydrates, fat and other minerals – on a daily basis.
Eat a healthy mix of vegetable everyday. Include as many colors as possible. Some recommended veggies are lettuce, broccoli – this helps to detoxify the liver, Radish – experiment with the colors because this is rich in potassium and vitamins, mushrooms – this has a high mineral content and could delay the sagging of the skin, cabbage- for its cancer prevention properties and Carrots – this has high quantities of beta carotene and does wonders for the body.
Now, let’s see which fruits can help to boost a good life. For a plethora of health benefits, Apricots are the best bet. It has essential vitamins, beta carotenes, and generous quantities of cancer preventing substances. It also stimulates blood circulation. It is a world of nutrients combined in one fruit. The potassium fruit or Banana contains a high carbohydrate content which is converted into energy within the body. This is turn take care of the muscles, nerves, heart, kidneys and the skeleton. It is also supposed to cure depression.
Blackberries contain a rich source of antioxidants and this helps in matters pertaining to the skin. All berries, for that matter, are rich in anti oxidants so feel free to take your pick. If these don’t suffice your “fruit needs” then go ahead and splurge on mangoes, pineapples, apples, plums, kiwi, and guava and just about anything you can lay your hands on. Toss them up in a salad or make fresh juices with them. Smile at the end of it all, because people will soon start wondering where all the glow and spark comes from.
While some people may have some reservations about eating non-vegetarian food, truth be told; its health benefits are numerous. Meat is the powerhouse for the protein that the body needs. One essential component in meat that cannot be found in vegetarian food is essential amino acids. Red meat especially, has rich quantities of amino acids, iron, and a high phosphorous content. The recommended varieties of meat are, lean red meat, chicken and lean cuts of pork.
Remember to supplement all of this with adequate quantities of water, juices, and coconut water. You can take a blind shot at two items from each of the food categories and spice it up in an interesting salad topped with herbs. Healthy can be interesting too!
However, don’t over-do any of them as it may begin to have side effects. For instance, if your body has more fiber content than it can bear then you could expect side effects like constipation.
More often than not, it is not just about looking or feeling healthy. A healthy body propels a healthy mind and that result in well rounded people, who inspire others. You too can become one of them. Eat healthy and lead a very good life.
